How do change root user password?

How do change root user password?  This may be simple but can't get any guidance online, please help.

Login as the root user, then click the My Space/My Account tab, then choose to edit your user details and get the lock for your user. Then change the password and commit the screen.

there's also reset_root_password.php in the scripts folder of your matrix install.
