This is probably a silly question, but how does one refresh a schema already applied to an asset?
For example I have a metadata schema applied to a page.
If I then modify the schema, how is the change propagated? I wasn't very patient and decided to remove the schema and then reapply it. Is that the proper way to do it?
Cheers
On the Details screen of the schema, you can check the Regenerate Metadata Files option and commit the page. A HIPO will run to re-cache all metadata files based on that schema throughout the system.
Thanks. (silly me…)
I've just done it and the HIPO job (despite being successful) generates a very long list of warning/error for each asset that has been deleted:
…
WARNING: Asset #359 does not exist
Reported 5th Nov 2004 1:47pm
ERROR: Could not regenerate metatdata file for asset #359, asset does not exist
Reported 5th Nov 2004 1:47pm
…
There is a bug logged in the bug tracker about this. When assets get deleted, their metadata schemas are not being removed. You can ignore these warnings for now. There will be some sort of system integrity script comming to clean this up later.
