How to setup matrix search to search all terms

Matrix Version:

At this stage, if someone searches for “my licence”, they get a search hit for finding “my” and “licence” in a field. Another example is searching for “Serge Licence” returns a pdf that matches content having the word “sergeant” and “licence” at different places in the document. What I would be expecting here the engine looking for exactly “Serge Licence” as a single term.

There is logic in the search asset around: A. AND/OR of terms. B. AND/OR of Fields.

But I can’t seem to find the option to tell the search to disregard spaces and look for the whole input / sentence as a search term.

I understand that this might also have to do with the indexing (eg composite term indexing).

Any clue on how to approach this?

The only configuration to contains word setting is for the beginning vs anywhere in the word:

This is on the details screen of the search manager and has always been a bit limiting.

Other than that you’ve basically only got the AND/OR settings on each search page as you mentioned.

We’re planning on addressing that by having these as customised options on each search page instead, plus letting you choose more granularity what contains logic you want to allow.

The search page asset is well overdue for some overhauling.
