Installing VMX in vSphere 4.0.0

Hello all

 

I'm trying to set up the current Matrix virtual image (4.18.0) under vSphere 4.0.0. I am getting the following two errors when I try to edit the machine settings via the vSphere client:

 

An IDE controller is found but the virtual machine does not support the option

 

A Flat backing option was not found

 

Can anyone help?

Reading around, it seems that the image is incompatible with vSphere/ESx (IDE system disk used instead of SCSi). I'm downloading the VMware converter, which will hopefully sort things out.

Yes, that was the issue. Converting the image fixed it, and I'm up and running.
