Is MySource Matrix Suitable for User Generated Business Directory Website?

Hi All,


We are wanting to build a business directory website (concept is similar to YellowPages).

Can anyone tell me if MySource Matrix is suitable for this type of website where users can submit and maintain their business listing?



High Level requirements:

  1. Ability to save business information such as: business name, contact details, categories, sub-catagories etc.
  2. User can register then submit their business details to be listed on the website.
  3. Registered users can login and update their business details anytime.
  4. All changes / new entries must be approved before going live on the frontend by directory admin in backend.



    If so, what are the key assets will be used to build this type of website?

Matrix is certainly technically capable of producing a website with the features you described. The functionality would most likely be re-created using metadata values attached to user assets and use an account manager page. There are alot of other considerations with something on the scale of something like the yellow pages site that might mean matrix would only be part of a solution (searching comes to mind, we don't have Funnelback fully integrated in a stable release yet).
