Latest stable Java plugin

Hi

 

We are using Matrix 4.14.0 and have notive that the latest Java update causes the left navigation to return an error and no content in the administrator interface.

We have started to roll back to older versions, but still can't get it quite right.

 

Currently Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U45 10.45.2.18 - Next Generation Java plug-in for Mozilla browsers allows the admin navigation to work, but none of the binocular symbols work and neither does the change button when assigning an asset.

 

Does any one know the latest stable Java plug-in that will still work with 4.14.0?

 

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated - thanks

Latest java would break old Matrix instance like 4.14.

If you are Squiz client, contact us and get upgraded / patched.

Otherwise, you need to upgrade it anyway.

Latest Matrix 4.18 branch would work well with latest Java.

 

You might be able to drop in replace those java jar files and get around those fatal java errors. I checked our internal guide and it looks like 4.14.0 should be fine to just drop in replace thsoe 2 jar files without need to modify local php code. You can test it out, if not working, replace back the old jar files. Remember to clear your browser and java caches after replace.

Really recommend an upgrade the JavaScript asset map is the bomb! Our admins have all reported a faster response :slight_smile:
