Linking a bodycopy div in several places

(Gab) #1

Hi - this should be very easy.

I have a standard page with the usual page contents/content container. I have added a bodycopy div which I have called "footer". I want this available for a group of pages. I have searched the manual and can only find a section on "Page Contents and Containers" which down the bottom of the page has a bookmark headed "Container Linked into Multiple Locations". This doesn't show me how to do it! Am I searching the wrong words?

Do I have to clone it to all the 100s of standard pages I have?

Our normal practice with this kind of thing is to have the footer as a separate page that we then include onto all the desired pages via the applied design or paint layout.

An alternative, if you can't do that, would be again, separate page for the footer, and then nest it via a nested content div on all the pages - that's not as ideal though given the need to add the nested content div.

Thanks for the reply. I cant use the design or paint layout, so will have to clone or nest to the hundreds of pages.

Hi Gayle,

Footers should really be added to the Design Parse file, or as suggested a Paint Layout.

Are you able to acquire access/get someone else with access to add it there?

This would save you many many hours of work adding it to the 100s of containers.

Update - I have used the paint layout and it works perfectly - thank you!
