Mac users, avoid Java update

(Talk) #1

Hey all, I know this is an ongoing issue, just wanted to warn Mac users off upgrading to the new Java update. Asset map has been crashing *all* day. This has never happened to me prior to upgrading my Java.

Cheers

I am pretty sure I just did the update and things seem to be working fine for me...

That’s good to hear. I ran the update on my MBP last night and so far so good (although I haven’t used it much). The Air on the other hand… Updated this morning, and all day the asset finder just froze up and a sad face took its place each time. Restarting Firefox solved it each time, and on the plus side, the asset selector works again after a very long hiatus

the asset selector works again after a very long hiatus :)

Bummer, was that not working for you? FF always just gave me a warning to accept some security risk, then I could use it.

We were comparing notes on this at work yesterday. The iMacs all give the security warning which you can choose not to block, but the poor little Air has only given it once (when I was demonstrating that it didn't do it, lol).

I shouldn't have gotten too excited, my asset selector has stopped working again, and nothing happens when I click the 'locate in asset map' button. I use my Air at work as it fits in my backback, I ride in. Ah well, hardly life changing, and I know Squiz has something juicy and worth the wait in the works.
