as I simply have just too many problems with my current shared hosting service (PEAR path doesn't work, MySQL version is older than 4.0) etc. I 'd like to know if anyone could recommend one that suits Matrix requirements. Please, no theory - practice only 
. So please advice only if you have managed bring the installation process succesfully to an end.

Matrix is unfortunately not very shared hosting friendly at the moment, due to the amount of security restrictions most shared hosting systems use. Matrix kinda likes stretching out and having the whole server to itself. 
However, I suggest you check out the WebHostingTalk forums and try and find a shared host that runs MySQL 4.0 with the latest version of PEAR.

Well, the problem is that at first when I'd typed [quote] # pear list [/quote] I got the appropriate component list, now (after a week), I get nothing blank line only whereas pear IS still installed at usr/share/pear path. The installation process stopped at step 6. I'll check at the forum but as I am not sure if it would work at another shared HP I'd still like to hear others where they have their Matrix installed.
I have a copy of Matrix running on my Ensim Pro box, but I do have root access.
