Metadata schema modification

We initally set up our metadata schemas as all encompassing behemoths. Now that we are rolling out distributed authorship through EES we are wanting to trim them down and neaten them up a bit.


I have two scenarios that I would like some advice on:

  • Moving metadata fields between sections in the same schema e.g. moving Field1 from Section1 to Section2[*]Moving fields between schemas e.g. moving Field1 from Schema1 to Schema2In these two scenarios will assets retain their metadata field values if fields are moved.



    I made up two quick testSchemas and moved one field around and it looks like it worked but I am not sure on its repecutions across 10s of fields and 1000s of assets.
