We have a metadata asset that is select list. We've set up a default value in the details screen. However, on the front end the default value is missing, and the first option in the list is set as the default, so we're ending up with loads of invalid metadata.
How can we get the true default value to show? Does it have to be an option in the list?

Does "Select Branch" appear anywhere in the drop-down list (at thee bottom maybe?) or is it not in there at all?
It appears in the drop-down list that's generated in the metadata asset details screen - the one you use to set the default - (as illustrated in the picture on the left in the attached PDF), but it doesn't appear on metadata entry/management screens (as illustrated in the picture on the right in the attached PDF). It's completely missing from this view (i.e. it's not at the bottom of the list either)…
Should I put this on the bug tracker?
Yeah - someone was looking into this but ran out of time.
