Moved some standard pages to a new folder and they've lost their web paths

Hi all,

I moved some standard page assets to a different folder and they've lost their web paths. There doesn't seem to be any option to add a web path either so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi David

They will only get paths automatically if the parent has a path already. Is the folder you've moved them to within your site, or outside your site?

To give assets paths manually, right-click in the asset map, and select web paths, but it sounds like you've tried that already.

I've moved the assets to a folder within the same site. I've right clicked and accessed web paths where it simply tells me "There are no URLs associated with this Asset" If I try to add a new web path by typing in the second path box and clicking commit, nothing happens. I fear I may have to recreate every asset that I moved :S

The only problem being, each of my 190 redirect pages link to one of these 16 standard pages, meaning I would need to change EVERY redirect page to link to new different standard page

Ok, this is getting strange... I moved the assets back to their original folder and low and behold, their URL's came back... Now I've moved them back to the folder I need them and they've disappeared again. This is truly absurd... Anyone got any ideas, or am I missing something blatantly obvious?

Ok, sorted it, the root node above all the folders I was working with doesn't have a web path (Site components) I think these are assets that can only be linked internally using the asset number and don't actually use URL's etc. I'll just have to put the assets I need in the main website for now.

Many thanks Tom, in the end it WAS blatantly obvious :)

Glad you're sorted. I hate bulk shifting stuff around. Makes me nervous.

+1, I nearly always try to clone and then delete the older versions when I'm certain everything works. Nothing worse than moving a bulk of items and then suddenly everything's broken.
