Hi,
I am encountering a problem when trying to move an asset within the same folder. After I drag and drop the asset to where I want it, the folder closes itself and i can't see if the asset has moved or not. To verify if the asset has moved, I have to relocate the folder in the asset map and open it again. Could you please help me out? Was this issue resolved in newer versions?

He is on 4.18.3.
Have you tried choosing the refresh option to refresh the node rather than moving it?
Also, there have been many many bug fixes with the modern asset map in later versions, so I would suspect this was fixed.
Upon moving the node, the asset tree appears to be refreshing but then the root folder is closed and I have to open it again. I will do some testing on later versions to check if the problem is resolved.

Looks like it was fixed in 5.0
The same procedure was replicated on version v4.18.7 and the same error appeared again.

I am still on 5.0.1.1 and having the issue. It appears that it was fixed in 5.0.3.0.
Yea I marked it as released in 5.0.3.0 as I could not replicate at all. If you can tell us the specific browser and version you are using I can try and replicate again in the latest version of Matrix to confirm it's also fixed in your specific browser.

This happens to me as well and there never happens to be a reason why it sometimes happens.
I am using Squiz Matrix v4.18.5, Firefox 30.0.
The root folder closes after I have moved 1 or multiple assests with a folder and also when moving assets to a new location. The HIPO runs (if needed) and once its done the asset tree closes and then you have to navigate to back to where you were. This makes it difficult to reopen all nodes you were working on.
