mySQL when?

I was hoping to get an estimate of when mySQL support will be reinstated.

Thanks

There is no time-frame for the reintroduction of MySQL support. If MySource Matrix does support MySQL again, it will not be in the near future.

It certainly makes it easier to find lower end hosting if you have MySQl support. So for that reason alone I think it'd be a great move. That and I'd say more people have MySQl expereince than Postgres, true for me at least.

We're waiting for MySQL to support Triggers and Stored Procedures properly (which is required for rollback). Until they put that into a stable release, we won't support it.

from a quick read at mysql site, I guess that means when 5.0 becaomse stable right?

Seeing as Mysql 5.0 is out, does this mean we will soon get support back in?

Tim

No. We have to do a lot of work to get the support back in, including a heap of testing. We need to be certain that MySQL supports the database features we require first as well. That's going to take time.

I wouldn't expect to see if any time soon. As I said before, there is no timeline.

I believe that MySQL support will not return to MySource Matrix. Its possibly on the list for MySource v4.0 though.

That's right. MySource 4.x will have support for MySQL, but it is not planned for 3.x.
