OAuth 2 Authentication: Facebook user logon

(Ryan Archer) #1

Have followed the Squiz guide here http://manuals.matrix.squizsuite.net/oauth2/examples/oauth2-authentication-facebook tosetup facebook logon access. Seems to work quite well. Much better experience than trying to talk to LinkedIn's API.

However, when I signed in using my Facebook account and asked Squiz Matrix to create a new account for me based on my Facebook account information, I can't find any trace of the user being created in the Squiz Matrix backend. I have specified the 'create user location' to be in the same user directory as all our other admin accounts are. Not sure if this is correct or not.

Would like to be able to pull a log of the activity that went on during the process but I am stumped.

Has anyone else got a pointer for this setup?

Cheers

Not sure why you are not seeing the users created in Matrix. Have you got Automatic Creation set to Yes under User Creation Settings?

Probably not. I haven't had much experience in user creation within Squiz Matrix. Where can I see this option?

It would most likely be due to our websites being closed systems as they are government websites.

Should be under the "User Creation Settings" setting on the Details Screen of the Account Manager. See http://manuals.matrix.squizsuite.net/oauth2/chapters/oauth-account-managerfor an example of the screen section.
