I have a page that was taking 28 seconds to generate. It's rather complex with designs, layouts and many a nested content.
I've gone through my customisations and found an offending nested content item that I have temporarily removed and got my page load time to 6 seconds.
Aside for turning on caching (something I don't want to do until we put the site into production/ I want to solve the underlaying problem)… its there anything else I can do to improve page response time?
Best,
Simon
When you say "nested content" are we talking about nesting internal to Matrix or remote content/rest resource assets?
First thing to try is upgrade (if you haven't already) to 4.2, it has lots of optimisations apparently.

All nested contents are internal. Thanks for the note about upgrading (we are running 3.28.4). Does anyone know any implementation issues that are worth looking at?

Can you tell us more about the asset that was nested that was causing issues? Was it an asset listing?

Can you post full details of the page in question - what is nested in it and the settings for each of these. Also tell us how many asset are in the part of the tree that is being listed.
