Postgres tuning

Hi,

do you have some kind of guideline when tuning Postgres?

As what I understand theres a quite complicated process to tune in the right settings. So it would be nice if you had instructions for this.

Otherwise, there is a PostgreSQL Performance mailing list at http://www.postgresql.org/community/lists/subscribe which you can subscribe to. PostgreSQL configuration seems to be a fine art.
