Preview pages for stakeholders

I know this has been discussed frequently, but not recently as far as I can see.

We need to be able to share page updates to stakeholders.

Process:

  • The page will enter safe edit mode
  • The editors will update the page
  • Then the page needs to be sent for review

We don’t want to be adding all the stakeholders to permission groups and we don’t want all pages permanently open for viewing when in safe edit.

Has anyone come up with a solution for this yet?

  1. Create a regular User account in Matrix with the name ‘preview’ with a simple password
  2. Give this User account Write permissions on the asset you are editing
  3. Share the login details for this user account with your stakeholders
  4. They will be able to _login and preview with _nocache your changes in safe edit

Just to confirm, since this preview User is not a Backend User or Content Editor, they won’t be able to edit changes even though they have Write access
