We are interested in develping our own mulit page custom form asset, because we cannot afford to pay for the development of this asset.
What are the rules and regulations or reverse engineering the current custom form asset? I know that it is not open source, so that probably is not allowed. Would we have to basicly start from scratch, following the tutorial on how to create an asset of course?

Interesting question. The Custom Form asset is now part of the GPL download, so under the terms of the GPL you are able to modify and distribute modifications to that as long as you retain the Squiz copyright messages and the GPL licence on anything you distribute. BTW, the SSV licence also allows you to make modifications, but you cannot distribute those modifications in any way, so you are able to at least make internal modifications to the SSV-only modules.
However, if you have a Service Level Agreement with Squiz, you are not allowed to run code that has not been tested and approved by Squiz. Otherwise we cannot warrant your system or guarantee uptime.
So, the short answer is: You can take the current Custom Form asset(s) from the GPL package and modify them, as long as you released them under the GPL if you chose to distribute them in any way.
Obviously if you do create a multi-page form, we’d love to hear about it. If you are prepared to assign copyright over your development to Squiz, we would consider including your development into the core GPL product as well.
