Search Manager Indexing

Hi guys,


I have a couple of questions relating to this:


  1. If I change any of the Search Manager settings, do I have to 'Reindex all assets on the system' for this to take effect?


  2. Is there a way to stop indexing partial words, or a way to prioritise (with the relavence weighting) instances of full words over instances of partial words?

  1. If you change weightings - yes you do. THe weightings are cached in the DB for faster searching.
  2. The indexing system only indexes full words, not partials, but the search page searches for partials during the frontend searches. There is no setting to turn this off - although it would be a nice feature.

I agree that it would be a great feature as partial words can twart search results.
