Search - Page Exclusions/Inclusions

Hello,


The way my site is setup, there are more than a few nested content areas. I dont wish these nested pages to show up in a site wide search. Is there a way to exclude these pages, or conversely include the desired pages?



They are all standard pages.

You need to set the weightings on the nested pages to 0. That way, the content won’t get indexed. :slight_smile:

Whoops, I tell a lie, it doesnt work a treat.


  1. If I change the weighting to 0, it resets back to 1.
  2. If I change the drop down to "Do not include in searches", it actually bumps it up the results?



    Im running v3.4.4.

Where are you making these changes? It should be on the weightings screen of the assets you're trying to suppress.

Right click on the asset > Relevance Weights



Thats the only screen I can find any mention of “Weight”. I get six options:



Created Date , Asset Name , Published Date, Short Name, Updated Date, Contents (HTML stripped)



with:


  • default
  • a drop down
  • and a Weight text field (with "1" prefilled, if "Include in Searches" is selected from the dropdown)
