I would like to use the Tools > Export Files tool, but I don’t know what to put into the Save Location field.
Is there something I can put in that field so I can export to a folder I can see within the tree? The manual for this tool is not helpful at all. If we are not self hosting am I able to even see directories on the server?
As far as I know there’s no use for that tool if you don’t have access to the server. It’s just a legacy thing.
If the number (and total size) of files you want to export isn’t too high, you could use the Export assets to XML tool, download the .tgz archive that it produces and then extract that file.
When you include file assets in exported XML, the files themselves can be extracted from the export folder within the tgz archive.
Thanks John. I was able to use EXport assets to XML to do the job.
It should really say what you wrote here in the manual though.
