Serving HTML pages

Matrix Version: 5.5.7.1

I’ve been provided with a package of files (html/css/js/jpg/mp4) that function as a learning tool, and it needs to be added to our website. When viewed on the web, the package will always open in a new window so it can be independent of the site structure.

When I open the index.html file on my desktop the tool operates correctly, however, after uploading the package to Matrix, when I try to preview the index.html file the browser asks the user to download it instead of displaying it.

Is it possible to get this to work?

If these files and pages have nothing to do with Matrix and never will, I would just put them outside of the Matrix structure and create an Apache Alias to point to the file location.

I’d probably go with @nnhubbard’s suggestion, but otherwise there’s also the rarely used File Bridge asset.
