Thanks Nic, the guide you provided is for all intents and purposes exactly what I have gone through and equals the instructions on the Squiz site - just different directory names changed in all the right places. Hosting provider installed pspell and the check_requirements script now only shows wddx as not present (it is) - I noticed your guide didn't refer to a wddx package unless it is included in some of the other PEAR packages you installed. Also sent you an email separately.
