SFUsers Conference - Components

(Tbaatar) #1

Hi everyone,

I had fantastic time yesterday at the UK Squiz and Funnelback conference, and went back home with full of ideas.

The best part of the conference for me was Suren’s presentation about easing workflow (Money Super Market demo) using snippet / components to create pages and promotions. We have been building something similar but not as elegant as Suren’s example.

I get how the whole thing works but what I can’t find in Matrix(4.3.3) is how you can add predefined classes (e.g 960 grid) to the Bodycopy Container.

Oh and thanks for all the accessibility tips and tools such as HTML CodeSniffer.

Hey Tuguldur

Thanks for the positive comments. Hopefully I can bring along some more ideas for next time

The predefined class setting is actually been around for quite some time, maybe as far back as 3.18. The way you set is to go to a specific design customisation (the one applied to your generic pages) and select “Styles”. Ive added a screenshot to show you where it can be found.

You can then add the classes as defined by your grid. You can also add classes to your WYSIWYG as well!.

Let me know if you need any more guidance on getting started.

Kind regards,

Suren

Awesome Suren.

Never seen that option, then again I avoided design customization like a plague. This is certainly going to make my life a lot easier in future developments.
