Submission Bloat

(Rhaggith) #1

Just had an idle thought the other day about custom forms and submissions; Is there a maximum number of submissions a custom form could possibly take? I imagine it would probably be a 'how big is your hdd?' answer.

Following that, does Matrix magically cull/archive older submissions, or is this something that must be manually done?

Then, if one were to have some kind of issue with 'submission bloat' (quite possibly a forbidden wrestling maneuver), is there a way to pinpoint which form is causing the dramas? Assuming you have a crazy amount of custom forms. Has anyone had issues?

Purely hypothetical, although I am working on a website where to get to the actual content you need to fill out at least 23 forms. And some of them multiple times.

On www.puc.edu we have about 90 forms that have been filled out for about 5 years now. Some of which have never had the submissions deleted.

We have never seen any issues at all with this.

Our only issue that we ever see if multiple submissions, but I suspect that is from users clicking submit twice.

Thanks Nic, good to know.
