Total group count keyword for Asset Listings

Is there an undocumented keyword for total group count for asset listings?

 

I have an asset list which returns a selection of top level groups based on metadata value. An example being that 50 assets will be returned in 5 groups. Does Matrix have a keyword, similar to %total_pages% for total groups? I'd prefer not to use javascript to print the value.

I am not sure how your asset listing is structured, but have you tried %group_immed_child_group_count%?

By adding a new blank group at the top level, that keyword returns the total number of the groups I'm trying to count. Works great!
