Unable to set a default value on a metadata date field

(Richard Crompton) #1

We have a metadata date field (used for the closing date of an application).

On the default value section I'm trying to set it to 3 months from now, but every time I do this and click commit, my change has been reverted.

Any ideas why?

When you say the change has been reverted, do you mean the setting that you set for 3 months from now goes back to blank?

Or does the offset go back to being blank?

Also, if you have both the offset and the 3 months from now set, that means that the value will actually be 6 months from now, is that what you want?

Hi Bart

I wasn't sure which to use.

This was initially set with the 3+ month offset, but expected the date on the website to display today's date plus 3 months.

When that didn't work, I started looking at the default.

If I put 3 months from now and click commit, it ignores this and resets the field.

The 3 month offset should display 3 months plus the value that you actually enter into the field, so strange that it doesn't do that for you.

So when you set the OR IN value as 3 and then the drop down as months, and clear the offset field completely, and then hit commit, it resets the OR IN value to blank and its drop down to its default?
