Up for Review

(Karen Jeal) #1

Hello,

We're trying to work out how to send an email to users when an asset is changed from live to 'Up for Review'. so they know they need to basically check the page and update it or change things when a deadline passes.

We have started doing this by adding a trigger but we can't get the email to send. We have the trigger enabled, and set to status changed, we have pointed it to the right part of the asset tree and configured the email section but nothing comes through.

When something gets changed to live we get an email straight away so it's very odd.

We're using Squiz v 5.1.3.0

Can anyone offer any help with this?

Are you successfully receiving other emails from Matrix? If not, check your spam software, which could be rejecting emails which say they are from your domain, but are received from an external location.

First up check the system log - is the trigger actually firing? If not play around with the firing event and conditions. If it is firing then you'll need to figure out why the action isn't working.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes we're getting other em,ails through from Matrix as part of our workflow but this trigger doesn't seem to be sending the emails. Either when we set the future status for 'up for review' or if we set the expiry date in the page metadata.

Could you please send a screen capture of your trigger set up. JP and Bart helped me a while ago with a send email trigger and I just want to see of it’s similar. Setting the tree node was an issue especially if the parent was also an asset you were trying to get email.

Thanks, we have had a play around with it today and although it's taken a while we've got it working now. Appreciate everyone's comments and help though!

Hi guys,

We have exactly the same issue here, can you please tell us what you did to get the trigger working, as you say if you update the page and make it live the trigger then spots the metadata expiry date and fires the email, but it does not appear to see asset with a metadata expiry date unless you first update the page.

We are also using: Squiz v 5.1.3.0

many thanks

Neil
