Updating url remappings

(autjoe) #1

Hi there,

when I try to update an existing remapping url (a short redirect url), I have to delete the old one and create a new one with the same "old URL" and the new "New URL", but the old redirect still seems active after clear the browser cache. any advice will be appreciated.

Also will be really convenient if the remapping url can be editable in Remap manager?

Thanks.

If you are using a proxy cache such as Squid, the redirect will get cached in there as well. A quick way to test it would be to append "?" to the end of the url and see if the new redirect works then. There is no easy way of flushing the cache on a redirect in Squid from Matrix, so you might have to do it manually via the proxy or just wait.

If you want to speed things up, you can always keep the old remap url and remap that again to the very new one.

Hope that helps.
