Using a hyphen in a search

(Joel Starkey) #1

there is a term on our website that users may want to search on, "e-journey", but for some reason the results come back as zero. Does the search not allow the hyphen character? Does anybody know a way around this?

Also, is there a way to exclude assets from being searched on, ie, the 404 error page displays in the search results if certain keywords are used.

Thanks

What versison of MySource Matrix are you using? Searching is a bit different between 3.6 and 3.8.

Anybody got an update on the problem with using the Matrix search to search for a hyphenated word? It seems that Matrix strips out the hyphen when adding it to the search index. Is there any way (short of javascript) to strip out the hyphen from the term being searched? Or any other way around it? Am using 3.16.2.
