Using Asset Listing to display JSON Data Source

(Ryan Archer) #1

Matrix Version: 5.3

Not sure if this is a bug or supposed normal behaviour, but when I nest a JSON Data Source asset into an asset listing, I have to select “Data Source Record Set” asset type as opposed to selecting “JSON Data Source” asset type (which does make more logical sense to me).

It especially messes up the JSON Data Attributes if you select the “JSON Data Source” asset type in the Asset Listing.

Is this expected behaviour?

Yes because you are not listing individual JSON Data Source Assets, you are listing Data Source Records Sets.
It’s like if you point to a folder as the root node for the listing and list standard pages under it, you don’t select Folder as the type to asset list, you select Standard Page.

Fair enough. Your explanation makes sense.
Hey, when are you guys releasing material from the recent Sydney Squiz Summit?

Could really use that stuff to share with the rest of my team. My notes just skim the surface of what you covered in v5.4 release and the “Tricks and Tips” presentation.

Hopefully this week! We’ll be sure to make some announcements about them once they are up.
