Using content templates on assets other than Standard Page assets

Hi,

Are there any plans on allowing content templates on other asset types other than Standard Page - e.g. News Items, Events?

For example, we use News Items for blog posts and I have created a couple content templates which build image galleries, maps, etc. but we cant add them to our blogs because News Item assets don’t allow new containers to be added.

Not at this stage, mainly because news items are structured quite differently to Standard pages. News items contents are all contained within a single attribute of the news item, where standard pages have individual separate content containers where the templates are applied to.

For news items I’d probably use something like a paint layout applied to the whole asset for now, or use %globals_asset_contents_raw:1234% to “nest” in a standard page that has the content templates applied to it.

You could also start using standard pages as your blog pages instead of news items perhaps?
