Using Keywords in Metadata Description field

(Kyle) #1

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if it is possible to use a keyword e.g %asset_assetid% in a description for a metadata field to be shown in edit+ ?

When i use it just now it just displays %asset_assetid% rather than updating to ID.

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

Don’t think so, but what’s the use case? The keyword will show the ID on the front end wherever you print the metadata description field anyway.

Its in the edit+ metadata description I need it to show. Asset ID was probably a bad example.

Basically I was wanting to include a little note for editors that included a link to further information page (training guide) that explains more detail about the metadata field. Was wanting to us ID to link to.

Hope that makes more sense.

Oh right, sorry, missed that it was in the description field. So what exactly do you want to put into the description field? The asset ID of the current asset being edited? Or the ID of the metadata field for that description?

I think regardless, you would need to write a small JS plugin to populate it because keywords in descriptions won’t get replaced by default becase you are still accessing the content under /_edit mode.
