Will data be lost if the metadata field type is changed

Hi Matrix Community,

I am looking at changing the metadata schema field for the page title, from text field to text area in an effort to enable the ability to add new lines to our titles via ^nl2br keyword (which is not possible with the text field type).

My question is will the data be maintained across all our page metadata when the field type is changed, as some of our pages use custom titles?

Hi Boris,

That should be fine, it’s not changing asset type, just the way it displays on the metadata screen.
