Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 9 ( scrolling for the edit contents screen) Issue

#1

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had come across an issue with scrolling from left to right with the edit contents screen in the admin interface?

We have tested with IE8 and there doesn't seem to be an issue, and Internet Explorer 10 and there is no issue.

We have checked the page settings in the browser.

Has anyone else experienced this?

cheers

Fuzz

Hi fuzzi, in order for forum members to help, is there any chance you could provide a bit more information regarding the issue?

Here are some questions:

  • What exactly is "the issue"?
  • Can you upload a screenshot of the issue?
  • What version of Matrix are you using?
  • Is your IE9 browser set to display in compatibility mode or in a different document mode at all? Ensure it is set to its default for both document and browser mode.
  • If possible, are you able to test using a different Matrix version?

If you could answer some of those questions and provide more info, you will get a better chance of members helping you out.

Cheers.

Hey Bart,

Consider me officially spanked. Sorry guys.

The issue

The  Edit contents window should be resizing to browser. The WYSIWYG editor activates a scrollbar in the window.  You have to scroll to the right to see all the edit contents window.

  1. Browser - Internet Explorer 9 ( Windows 7)
  2. Matrix version 4.18.0 - no other versions are available to test.
  3. Compatibility mode is turned off. If we turn it on we won't get the ace javascript map and it will default to Java - boo. However it was tried with it - on and Off.
  4. I have suggested alternate browsers like chrome or Firefox but 9 and 10 are standard on our machines ( for a windows 7 image)
  5. Checked the page properties to make sure that  zoom isn't at play

Can you maybe post a screenshot of what it looks like? Also, what width do you have the WYSIWYG set to in your global preferences? And does the page have any other divs such as raq html containers that have a width that might be pushing the width of the rest of the page out?

ok I have to slap myself here - in this particular case I checked with the admn and   asset that was having the issue has captivate content.

It was a RAW container with captivate content that was bigger was bigger than the design area!

I'll have a check with the others but I think in this particular case that  maybe it.

thanks so much Bart - Hopefully that was it!
