Workflow only approves assets to go live

This is with MySource Matrix 3.4.4:

I've got a workflow, and work flows through it appropriately. Once an asset reaches the end of the workflow, it becomes 'Approved to go live'.

The users in the final step of the workflow can make changes live. Currently, the user has to approve the changes, then go to details and make them live.

I was wondering if it is possible to combine those two steps into the final stage of the workflow, essentially an 'Approve and make live' option.

You cant do this with the current system - its by design.

Workflow makes the asset "approved to go live" so that an admin can then schedule it to go live using a Future Status. So they asset can go through workflow and be approved in advance of its release date.

So does that mean that every page has to be approved by an administrator before it can go live!

Ideally I would like to set up my workflow as follows:

Workflow Step One - Member of 'Editors Group' makes changes to page.

Workflow Step Two - Member of 'Approvers Group' approves chages made by editor.

At this stage the page should go live without any intervention by the administrator! Is this possible?

I realise I can set future status for the page to go live, but this is on a one off basis! Can I set it sop that it automatically sets pages to live on a routine basis without any intervention required by the administrator on a continuing basis every time a page is changed?

You only need someone with Admin access to the asset, not a System Administrator. If you give your Approvers group Admin permission to the assets, they can make them live on the details screen after approving them on the workflow screen.

Not also that this can be done by configuring a trigger, but only in 3.6.0 RC1 and greater.
