Workflow User reject/approve email notification

Hi guys

 

I have an easy question which probably has an easier answer (of no!) basically saying can users be notified by email of changes and comments either rejected or approved. We have a number of users who will be under workflow, so once users make a change, approver will approve or reject this request with comments.  

 

At present it seems only approvers and/or admin user groups get emails notifying them of rejections or approvals, but to me I don't see the point of an approver rejecting changes with comments and then recieving an email informing them of a rejection they did! It seems more helpful for the user to also receive this including comments so they know exactly why it was rejected.

 

Is this possible? I get the feeling looking through the forums and options in the workflow users don't get included in the email loop.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks heaps!

Hi,

On the Workflow Schema's details screen, there is option "Notify Starter After Approval" should do what you are after.

The reson approvers get the approval/rejection email is to notify them that they had a chance but someone has already approved/rejected the changes.

Thanks for the quick reply. Those are both ticked though unfortunately, so maybe the workflow hasn't been set up correctly... I'll look into it from there, with any luck can get it to work. Thanks mate.

Something else I thought of, if the options are already checked on Workflow Schema then make sure the 'asset.workflow.announce.*' is in the "Log to Email Whit List" on Messaging Service Configuration Screen

Hey mate just thought I'd mention A) the asset workflow annouce worked, editor started receiving emails.  B) still wasn't getting any information such as comments in the email that came through. So I thought I'd mention the part that brought comments back.  

 

In Custom messages we just retypedthe current message in the workflow rejection and approved box as below, we just kept the format it was already on but now emails are sent AND they contain useful comments (if included)
