WYSIWYG YouTube button auto-starting videos

(Charlotte Westney) #1

Hi everyone,

We're not sure if this is a recent problem, we think it is, and we think that our videos used to work fine before.

But now, if an author (in Admin or in EES) uses the YouTube button on the WYSIWYG toobar, and puts in the ID of a YouTube video, when you view the page, the video starts playing. What's odd, is that in the source code that Matrix creates, I can see the attribute autostart=0 which is telling the video not to start playing.

Here's the page:
http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/webcams-videos-and-photos/video

And here's the source code for the video:

We know that we can hard-code in the videos in iFrames, but we'd prefer to be able to use the button if possible. So is this something that we need to change in YouTube, or in Matrix, or both?

Thanks for any insights!

Charlie.

It's better to use iFrame to serve iDevices.

It would be really easy.

Can someone post the link to this bug fix in CVS? (I still can't figure out how to browse it, I always get blank folders)

Nic as always - stealithy fast

We just need to work out if its worth waiting for our  proposed upgrade at the end of the year. But as charlie says we'd prefer that the button be able to be used.

We currenlty hide it from all our EES users  via their preferences.

Are you able to make changes to Matrix code, or are you under an SLA?

Hey Nic - No we are under SLA. Hopefully an upgdae by teh end of the year whihc will include the patch.

In the mean time we have provided alternate ways  for our editors to do this - although manual.

If you are on SLA then you should be able to raise a support ticket to get a patch for the issue. That is if you don't want to wait till the upgrade is performed.
